What is Explore Mode?

Explore Mode replaces the Variable Summaries tab with a fully redesigned experience built for speed and clarity.

You can now:

• Scroll vertically: Quickly scan through variables to get a high-level view of your data.
• Navigate with precision: Use the new variable folder structure and tile highlighting to move between sections and keep your analysis focused.
• Refine your view: Use the improved filter bar to focus on specific segments of your data instantly.
• Dig deeper with Analyse: Use Explore as a starting point for deeper analysis — navigate directly to Tables and Graphs mode to move seamlessly from exploration to full analysis.

Why Explore Mode?

Getting oriented in a new dataset has traditionally been a time-consuming process. Explore Mode is designed to reduce that friction, enabling researchers and marketers to spend less time locating variables and more time generating insight.

What’s coming next?

Explore Mode is the first step in a broader effort to modernise and unify Crunch. Our next milestone is merging Tables & Graphs and Multi-tables together into a single, unified Analysis Mode, making it easier to move from exploration to full analysis without switching contexts.
